Located around 43 km east of Salt Lake City, it is situated on the Wasatch Mountains atop the Little Cottonwood Canyon. If size matters to you, The Canyons is the ski resort for you. Covering nine mountain peaks in Park City, Utah, the resort boasts of 1, 600 hectares of skiable terrain with 19 chairlifts, 182 trails and three terrain parks. Although there are provisions for all levels of skiing, beginners will find that their choices of ski areas are limited.
When you go to The Canyons, be sure to check out their great fall-line cruisers of varying pitch and the remarkable tree-skiing in the well gladed areas. Unlike Alta, snowboarders are more than welcome in the Canyons.

Park City Mountain Resort
With an excellent quality of snow, varied terrain and an environment conducive for family vacations, Park City has it all. The world-renowned ski resort sits above the main street of a lively cosmopolitan town called Park City. As it was once the host of 2002 Winter Olympics, the resort is in great shape. There are 16 lifts with high-speed 6-seater chair lifts and quad chairs. There is also a chair lift that rises from the middle of the main street. Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) has a 1, 335 hectares-large terrain and 114 trails. It has a large percentage of medium difficulty terrain which makes it ideal for intermediates. However, that is not to say that beginners don't get much fun in the terrain - they do. For experts, there are the steep which are sufficiently challenging.
Another reason why Park City is a top choice for skiing in Utah is due to the many things it has to offer. You can shop, dine, people-watch and do other activities. PCMR also has a vibrant nightlife.
